In an industry where technology innovation leads every discussion, it is refreshing to know that solving network problems is not the only thing on the minds of dedicated professionals. Giving back to the community has long been an important mission for many of the hardworking individuals at NETSCOUT.
In recognition of these efforts, the company was recently honored by the Boston Business Journal as an outstanding Community Collaborator in Massachusetts. Since 2020, NETSCOUT has partnered with Boston-based nonprofit Tech Goes Home (TGH), providing people across the state with the resources and skills necessary to achieve digital literacy. NETSCOUT has invested more than half a million dollars in the program and recently donated $150,000 in April 2025 to expand support for more than 20,000 underserved participants in the local community.
“We are grateful for NETSCOUT’s continued commitment to TGH and for their recognition of our organization as a driver of digital equity and access across Massachusetts and beyond,” said Dahlia Bousaid Cox, interim CEO at TGH. “This new funding will help us reach new communities of learners and help connect them with the digital tools and skills that are the foundation of economic mobility, better health, social connection, and more.”
Addressing the Digital Divide
A 2024 Boston Digital Equity Report found that nearly 17 percent of the population in Massachusetts lack a desktop or laptop computer, and nearly 18 percent lack high-speed internet connection. This has led to a lack of confidence in applying for jobs or benefit programs online. To address this digital divide, NETSCOUT partnered with TGH’s flagship Digital Inclusion program. Participants across the state completed 15 hours of digital skills training, earning a new Chromebook or iPad and, if needed, a year-long internet connection free of charge. With the tools and new skills they gain through the program, graduates are prepared to safely leverage technology in meaningful ways that affect their daily lives (i.e., completing homework, applying for jobs, accessing telehealth and other community resources, and communicating with family and friends).
In addition to the donation to TGH, NETSCOUT employee volunteers completed a comprehensive audit of more than 90 TGH learner tutorials, providing invaluable updates and thus expanding and improving learning opportunities.
The results from this program have been overwhelmingly positive:
- 88 percent of graduates have used their digital skills to communicate with others
- 100 percent of school-aged children are now better able to do schoolwork online
- 60 percent of children in school reported improved grades
- 81 percent of graduates got a new or better job, earned a pay raise, entered a work training program, entered a new education program, or started a business
- 94 percent of those graduates with those job improvements attributed their achievement to TGH
NETSCOUT and TGH have worked in partnership with more than 160 schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations. In the last five years alone, more than 22,000 learners across Massachusetts have graduated from Digital Inclusion programs, and more than 16,500 new computers and tablets have been distributed.
“We’re thrilled to provide support to Tech Goes Home at a time when access to and understanding of the digital world remain so vitally important for daily life,” said Beth Kirsch, director of Stakeholder Engagement at NETSCOUT. “This investment will expand opportunities for individuals and families in Boston and Lowell. NETSCOUT believes that everyone should have access to the network and the skills to use it well.”
Recognized for Good Corporate Citizenship
In addition to honoring NETSCOUT as a Community Collaborator, the Boston Business Journal named us as one its top charitable companies in Massachusetts in 2025, earning this year’s Corporate Citizenship Award.
NETSCOUT donated more than $390,000 to Massachusetts community charities during the year, as well as 694 employee volunteer hours. This volunteer work has helped employees better understand the digital divide that exists in our local communities and the importance of bridging that divide.
NETSCOUT joined 98 other companies to deliver a combined $416 million in cash contributions to nonprofit organizations in the state in 2024.
